The Basho Series tries to catch the feeling of old master Matsuo Basho´s haikus. Each painting is related to one of those short poems, interpreting their brief text on canvas, parting from their English translations by different writers, and working on images from our present scenery. So the task of the brush scarcely reveals a distant echo of the words of the Japanese seventeenth-century poet.

The Basho Series has been developped in the last 5 years and still is in the making. Though some items have been sold, it constitutes a whole to be exhibited and enjoyed together, at least 36 pictures and poems together. So, its most probable destiny is to be housed in an art institution. The other series, developped in the past decade, have been partially sold.
